How to start media server

Tab

Construction of Tab Button

1."Browse" Tab button
Discovers Media Servers and show the folders and media files sequentially.

2."Search" Tab button
Discovers media files directry without browsing media servers and folders.

3."PlayLists" Tab button
You can make audio playlists by editing from Browse and Search.

4."Settings" Tab button
Configurations like period of slide show, sort criterias, renderer to which media files puted, and so on.

Browse Media Files

You can access to a Media Server and play the Image, Audio, Movie files sequentially by using this Browse Function.

Media Server List Panel

1.Media Server List
This is Media Server Lists which could be discovered over the local network. The numbers means the number of Image, Audio Movie files exposed on the Media Server.

2.Media Server Icon
Jump into the configuration web page of the media server.

3.Local Contents
MLPlayer can share synchronized iTunes music library files and Image files of Camera roll with other DLNA players.


Media Files List Panel

1.Media File List
Shows the item list of the image, audio, movie files which is exposed on the media server.
Tapping an item, then the media file would be played.
Indicator Icons which attached on means bellow.
:It's playable media format.
FMaybe playable.
FNot available for playing.

2.Media File Icon
Tapping an icon, then it shows detail information of a folder or media file.
Details are "here"


Detail Information Panel

1.Detail Infomation
Display detail infomation of the folder or media file.

2.Next / Previous
Display detail Information of next/previous media file.

3.Index
The index is diplayed.

4.Favourites(Only audio file)
Add the audio item into "Favourites" play list simply.

5.Content Icon
Play a media file, if it is media file.
Display media files list panel, if it is folder.

Play Media Files

Media Link Player can play Image, Audio, Movie files on Media Servers using WiFi.
Please refer to "here"to check playable Media Formats.

Image Viewer

1.Next / Previous
Play the Next or Previous Image File on the Item List.

2.Slide Show Mode
Start the slide show mode by tapping this. Stop the slide show mode by tapping again.

3.Tile Display Mode
Display the tiled image thumbnails.

4.Zoom In / Out
Zoom in or out by tapping Image displaying.


Audio Player

1.Play / Pause
Start the audio file. If it's playing, it'd be paused.

2.Next / Previous
Start next another audio file, if it's tapped while playing an audio file.
Move to previous another audio file, if tapped by start position around.
And start from start position if tapped by other position.

3.Seek Bar
Start the audio file from the drugged position.
Current playing time and total play time will be appeared.
There are some media players which are not available for seek operation or getting time positions.

4.Volume Control
Change the volume value.

5.Favourites
Add the audio item into "Favourites" play list simply.


Movie Player

1.Play / Pause
Start the movie file. If it's playing yet, it'd be paused.

2.Forward Scan / Backward Scan
Move to forward or backward position from current position.

3.Seek Bar
Start the movie file from the drugged position.
Current playing time and total play time will be appeared.
There are some media players which are not available for seek operation or getting time positions.

4.Volume Control
Change the volume value.

5.Zoom In / Out
Zoom in or out by tapping this button or display.

Search Panel

1.Search Targets
Select media servers which are search targets of media files.
Basically, all of media servers which could be discovered on local network are set to target.
Each media server can be excluded from search target by tapping its icon.
There are some media servers which are not available search function.

2.Target Category
Select search target category. It can be selected from Image, Audio, and Movie categories.

3.Target Criterion
Select search criterion.
Currently one criterion of title is available for Image files and 3 criteria and 1 criterion are available for Audio and Movie files.


Search Keywords Panel

1.Keyword
Enter full or fragment word and execute search operation. If there are media files which has metadata matched to the Keyword of criterion, the results will be listed up from target media servers.
For example, In the case of select "Audio" category and "title" criterion, enter "audio_title" as its keyword.
"audio_title_1" and "audio_title_2" will be hit.

2.History
Search history are memorized and displayed up to 20 works.
If it's over 20, the oldest work is erased.

Play-Lists

Can make play-lists which archive audio files.
Maximum number of play-lists can be made is up to 100 lists.
Not only playlist user can make, App provides 3 basic play-lists automatically made.

"Most Play" play-list lists up 30 audio files listened the most frequently automatically.
"Recent Play" play-list lists up 30 audio files recently automatically.
"Favourites" play-list lists up audio files you checked out its mark in audio player manually.
These play list starts when one of play-list items is tapped.


Create New Play-List

1.New Play-List
App user can make play-lists. There are next two way to make a play-list.

2.New by Browse
"Add From Server" is useful to add an audio file to play-list, if want to choose one from particular media server or folder.

3.New by Search
"Add From Search" is useful to add an audio file to play-list, if want to choose particular title, artist or album.

4.Registered Indicator Icons
When choose an audio file to add to play-list, "unregistered" icon turn into "registered" icon.

5.Finish
Tapping "Done" button, it finishes making play-list mode.

6.Cancel
Tapping "Cancel" button, it canceled making play-list mode.

7.Rename
The name of new play-list is "NEW PLAYLIST XX" as default. XX is number.
It can be changed when New Play-List or later Play-List Edit mode.


Edit Play-List

2nd tap of the play-list tab shows edit menu.

1.Add Content
Add new items in to the play-list. The ways to add items are same to new one.

2.Edit
Can sort and remove items of the play-list.
Tap an item, "remove mark icon" will be attached and it'll be removed from play-list when tap "Done" button.
Tap "move to mark", can go and down the item in the play-list.

3.Rename
Can change the name of this play-list again.

4.Delete
Delete this play-list.


Play play-list

Tap the audio item of the Play-List and starts the audio player.
If a media server which provides audio play-list item is absent from network, "Not Available" icon would be attached to the audio item.

Configuration and Setting

Setting Items

1.Sort Criteria
Two Criteria are available to order Item list.
"Title" sorts items in alphabet order. And "Date" makes list in creation date order.

2.Output Renderer
Set the DLNA Digital Media Renderer (DMR).
As Default setting, this App it's self is set here.
After setting DMR, media files will be rendered on the DMR.

3.Media Server configurations
MLPlayer contains media server function and it can share iTunes music library and Image files taken by its camera.
By tapping the gMedia Sharingh side button, you can choose either share media files or not.
gEnabledh marked button means the media server function is running, and gdisabledh means media server is stopping.
To confirm the process of sharing media files, please check "here".
By tapping the gDatabaseh side button, media server starts to synchronize its database with iTunes Music library and Camera roll.
To refer more media server configuration details, please check "here".

Note:
Playing media files by media player function is prior than sharing and transferring media files by media server function, if they are used together.
To share image files, Location Services of MLPlayer and camera must be turned on.

4.Advanced Setting
To configure more advanced setting, please check "here".

5.MediaLinkPlayer
It shows the version number of Media Link Player and installed date.


Renderer Setting

1.Output Renderer
If there are any DLNA Digital Media Renderers, for example Windows Media Player of Windows7, SONY's DTV BRAVIA and so on, the DMR information will be appeared in this list and selectable.
After setting DMR, media files will be rendered on the DMR.
The available media format is different by each DMRs and media server.


Advanced Setting

1.Slideshow
Configuration the parameters of slideshow mode
(1) Interval
This value means rendering time of one image file. After this time, next image file would be rendered.
(2) Transition
Setting of the effect of the image file's rendering and disappearing.
(3) Repeat
When all image files finished to be rendered, slideshow continues automatically.

2.Media library configuration
You can choose either share or not about each media library, and start synchronization of media server database with each media library partially.
iPhone/iPod touchfs music files are shared by media server function while giTunes Libraryh button is turned on.
While it turned off, sharing music files is stopped.
By tapping the gSynch button of giTunes Libraryh section, it starts to synchronize media server database with iPhone/iPod touchfs iTunes library partially.
Image files taken by its camera are shared by media server function, while gCamera Rollh button is turned on.
While it turned off, sharing that image files is stopped.
By tapping the gSynch button of gCamera Rollh section, it starts to synchronize media server database with iPhone/iPod touchfs iTunes library partially.

3.Image files sharing options
These options are used to keep interoperability with specific DLNA/UPnP media players.
For examples, REGZA DTV needs converted low resolution jpeg file information even if it renders original resolution jpeg file.
When the media server is started to synchronize with media libraries with this gGenerate JPEG_SMh option turned on, lower resolution jpeg data is generated and shared together.
Please be care that to generate lower resolution jpeg data, it takes longer time to complete synchronization. Default setting is off.
gGenerate detailed infoh option is used for UPnP players like XBMC which demands detailed information to render image files. If media server synchronize with media libraries with this option turned on, media server generates detailed information from original image file and share with it. Please be care about to generate detailed info of jpeg data, it takes longer time to complete synchronization. Default setting is off.

4.Resolution of an image (iPhone 3GSAiPod touch 4G or later)
Display higher resolution image, if you select gONh, if server can expose higher resolution image.

5.Media Server Icon
You can change the MLPlayer Icon which would be displayed on other DLNA/UPnP media playerfs screen when MLPlayer discovered as a DLNA media server.

How to start media server

1.Synchronization of media libraries.
To share media files in the iPhone/iPod, media server database must be synchronized with iPhone/iPod touch media libraries.
To complete this step, please tap button as bellow.
gSettingsh > gMedia Server configurationsh > gdatabase [Sync]h.
String of gSynch would be turned into gSynchronizingh, if it starts to synchronize.
This step need so long time if lots of music or image files are stored in iPhone/iPod. As a rough guide, it takes almost 10 minutes to finish 500 music files.
Please note that, the synchronization process would be paused if iPhone/iPod touch is rocked by, for example, turning off power button.
So, to through to completion this synchronization process, let power button turned on.

2.After completion of media server database synchronization, you can execute media server function as bellow.
gSettingsh > gMedia Server configurationsh > gMedia Sharing [Disabled]h
String of gDisabledh would be turned into gEnabledh, if media server starts to share.
